Q: Why should I learn from a qualified fly fishing instructor?
A: Having acquired recognised & respected qualifications as an instructor (See here), we have shown proven skills to be able to teach you how to fly fish and fly cast correctly. We are committed to sharing these skills, our experience and knowledge with you, helping you avoid the many common casting faults and the frustrations experienced by so many fly fishers.

A: We would discourage you in seeking fly casting tuition from an unqualified instructor
He or she may not......
..... have proven or tested skills to teach you to cast correctly,
..... have been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau,
..... have adequate Public Liability Insurance to safe guard and protect you.

Q: I would like to obtain fly fishing tuition for someone else as a special gift?
A: We provide fly fishing Gift Vouchers which can be purchased to celebrate any special occasion and used for any of my tuition options... more details

Q: I have never fly fished before?
A: As qualified fly fishing and casting instructors we're used to teaching beginners and are sympathetic to the needs of each individual. We'll tailor the instruction to suit you and ensure you have a memorable introduction to this wonderful sport.

Q: I have done some fly fishing but want to improve?
A: We can take your fly fishing beyond the basic overhead and roll cast, teach you to apply the Single or Double haul, Spey cast with single handed rods, Snake Roll, Snap-T and much more, as well as share with you a variety of fly fishing techniques useful on both rivers and lakes.

Q: How long is the tuition you provide?
A: We offer tuition for a minimum of 4 hours (Part Day). We believe this is the least amount of time that would benefit you as a potential fly angler.

Q: Will I be in a group or is tuition on a 1-2-1 basis?
A: We provide Instruction is on a 1-2-1 basis, unless you've arranged a booking with your partner or a group of friends.

Q: Where will the tuition be held?
A: We have access to a number of chalkstreams, rivers and lakes (See here for just a few of these venues - Devon Venues). Alternative locations can be sought by special arrangement but additional charges may be incurred for fishing permits and travel.

Q: I don't have any tackle or equipment?
A: Don't worry! - All of your equipment and tackle is provided by us FREE

A: Further more... We would encourage you not to make any purchase of tackle prior to your lesson. Don't spend your money on something that may not be suited to you. We use only top quality tackle giving you the opportunity to try a variety of different types of rod, reels & line etc... with the knowledge you've acquired during your lesson, you'll feel a lot more confident about making your first purchase.

Q: When is the best time to learn?
A: You can learn to fly cast and fish almost all year round. A lot of stillwater lakes remain open for the whole year, allowing you to continue fishing for Rainbow trout.
River systems that carry Grayling will also allow fishing through winter once the Brown trout season has closed.
We have access to chalkstreams, rivers and stillwaters that give us these options throughout the year.

Q: What will I learn?
A: Having understood how the rod, reel and fly line compliment one another, you'll learn how to fly cast correctly (A number of different styles and techniques will be covered based on your ability and experience as either a beginner or improver ). Watercraft, entomology and all other fly fishing paraphernalia will be covered relative to your tailored individual course.

Q: What happens after my lesson has finished?
A: You'll depart with a lot more confidence and better understanding of what is required to further improve your fly fishing skills and casting technique. We'll provide tuition and practice notes for you to use as a reference whilst you continue learning.

Q: How many more lessons will I need?
A: Having discussed and assessed your abilities during the course of your lesson, We can inform and further guide you as to what further tuition you may require going forward.
